Teaching Math with Clarity by Mastering Manipulatives 101
Grades 3-5




 If we want to increase student learning, then we have to use only those things that are proven to be effective!  There's no time to waste on anything that isn't helping us achieve our primary goal of learning.  In this session we will utilize highly effective practices that will greatly impact your students.  You'll learn HOW to design strong instruction that is clear & meaningful using manipulatives & representations to demonstrate abstract concepts. You will be able share the key understanding students should know about each concept or skill. You'll discover the impact of asking the right questions to foster students' thinking & classroom discourse to promote deeper understanding. The content will include the BIG ideas of place value (including decimals), multiplication, division. Warning! Fun Ahead! This will be an interactive hands-on session.
