A Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines Training on the 2022 Revised Science Domain
Igniting Curiosity and Scientific Inquiry in Pre-K
Share
This teacher professional development session focuses on empowering Pre-K teachers to foster their students' scientific development, as outlined in the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines Science Domain. Through interactive activities, guided discussions, and expert-led instruction, participants will deepen their understanding of scientific concepts and learn how to facilitate children's development of scientific inquiry skills, including observation, investigation, and classification. With a focus on evidence-based practices, participants will engage in collaborative learning opportunities, receive practical strategies, and explore resources to enhance their classroom instruction. This session will also provide time for reflection and goal setting to apply their new learning to their unique classroom contexts. By the end of the session, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of how to promote scientific development in the Pre-K setting and feel empowered to implement these practices in their classrooms. They will be able to create a learning environment that ignites curiosity and inquiry, setting the foundation for their students' lifelong love of science.
