Crash Course: Blended Learning

Blended learning is a powerful educational model that combines face-to-face instruction with online learning. It has the potential to improve student learning outcomes, increase student engagement, and reduce costs. However, blended learning is not just about using technology. It is about creating a learning environment that meets the needs of all students.

Blended learning has been a formalized instructional model since the 90s. However, it may have lost its identity. In this workshop we will explore the

  • Origins and current state of blended learning
  • What are the proven benefits
  • Why is it important for you and your district
  • Explore the refined framework from the work Raise Your Hand Texas program over the past few years

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

-Understand the different components of blended learning
-Implement blended learning ideas in their classrooms
-Identify the benefits of blended learning
-Explore ways to overcome some of the challenges of blended learning
