Each Texas Prekindergarten Guideline is aligned to one or more of the three Early Childhood Outcomes that early childhood special education teachers are required to report progress on for students ages 3-5 with an IEP. This session will help educators understand the connection of foundational skills to prekindergarten guidelines in order to help design and report progress on developmentally appropriate individualized goals for young learners. 


Important Session Information:


This session will provide DEC (Division of Early Childhood) recommended strategies to support engagement, learning, and outcomes in the core concepts of reading: motivation to read, phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, comprehension of text, and concepts of print.
