Elementary (PK-5) School Counselor Orientation and Best Practice Institute
Focus on SEL Practices




This session is tailored specifically for Elementary Middle School Counselors (PK-5). Counselors who serve students in elementary grades will learn about topics including guidance lessons and climate-and-culture building on the elementary campus, tools for reaching students and parents in poverty situations, bullying prevention and intervention, digital citizenship/social media responsibility, behavioral interventions, advising pre-adolescents, and more. Participants will be able to learn of various procedures for implementing state mandates and ensuring quality elementary school counseling services for public schools. 

Important Session Information:


This year's Elementary Best Practice Institute will focus on best practices around the region, including the 2024 ESC Region 12 School Counselors of the Year and have a focus on SEL practices. Join us for strategies and tools, resources and insights into how to help make your Comprehensive School Counseling Program the best it can be.
