Threat Assessment Teams




SB 11 out of the 86th Legislative session deemed the Safe & Supportive Schools Team (formerly Behavior Threat Assessment team) the identified group of collaborative individuals who lead assessments regarding threatening situations for students and staff. In this training, participants will learn about ethical and legal responsibilities regarding behavior threat assessment and ways in which to help support safer schools. 

Important Session Information:


This training is based on the Sigma model in partnership with the Texas School Safety Center and meets requirements for training according to the mandate set forth in SB 11.

Participants will be trained according to the Enhancing School Safety Using a Threat Assessment Model, July 2018, per the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the United States Secret Service in this 6 hour course.
