TIA & Special Education Connections: Expanding Access for Specialized Teacher Designations

The Region 12 Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) team is committed to helping districts strengthen their local designation systems by addressing specialized areas of instruction. Our goal is to increase the number of eligible teachers—especially those serving in unique or high-need roles—by making local systems more inclusive and supportive. These sessions are offered in collaborative partnership with Region 12 content-area specialists to ensure LEAs receive relevant, targeted guidance aligned with their instructional priorities.

This session will be beneficial for district or program leaders with a focus in the areas of special education, intervention, MTSS, or dyslexia.

Important Session Information:

Join us for a focused session designed for special education leaders interested in supporting their district’s Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) system. We’ll provide a brief overview of TIA requirements and explore how high-need areas—such as special education, intervention, and dyslexia services—can be meaningfully included in local designation systems. Learn how your leadership can help identify eligible teacher categories and strengthen TIA access for specialized instruction roles.
