Decoding Defiance: Managing Tantrums, Noncompliance, and Oppositional Behaviors

Educators will move beyond the ineffective quick fixes to explore the complex factors that contribute to oppositional behaviors, tantrums, and non-compliance. Participants will gain practical experience through targeted exercises designed to identify the functions and antecedents of challenging behaviors in diverse learners. Armed with this understanding, we will cover a 3-part intervention framework, focusing on proactive prevention strategies to reduce behavioral triggers, effective in-the-moment interventions to safely intervene, and crucial ongoing strategies to build long-term skills.
