Are your teachers ready to bring the Science of Teaching Reading to life, and do you have the tools to support them? After completing the HB3 Texas Reading Academies in person, their curiosity and energy are high, and this session helps you channel it into meaningful instructional impact.
This professional development series is designed for administrators and instructional coaches who have completed or are currently participating in the TRA. The program begins with a full-day, in-person session, where participants will dive deeply into STR-aligned leadership strategies, explore evidence-based look-fors, and plan for effective campus support. The initial session sets the stage for ongoing implementation support, which is reinforced through three follow-up Focused Office Hours across the school year.
Participants will learn to:
- Ensure administrators and teachers apply RA strategies in daily instructional practices.
- Communicate clear expectations for classroom instruction aligned with STR.
- Support teachers in data-driven decision-making to drive student growth.
- Observe classrooms and provide coaching that reinforces STR practices.
- Gather and analyze student data to measure implementation effectiveness.
- Create, curate, and share resources to further instructional support and strengthen literacy outcomes campus-wide.
Each session, whether in-person or virtual, will include practical examples, peer collaboration, and tools that leaders can immediately apply to improve reading instruction and student outcomes. By the end of the series, participants will be equipped to lead their campuses confidently, moving from compliance to meaningful instructional leadership in literacy.
