RBIS in Action: Productive Struggle and Student Discourse for Elementary Teachers




How do we shift the heavy lifting from the teacher to the students? Join us as we dive into the RBIS pillars of productive struggle and meaningful discourse within the elementary math. This session provides educators with evidence-based strategies to facilitate rigorous mathematical conversations and create an environment where learners grapple with complex problems, articulate their reasoning, and build deep conceptual understanding through collaborative talk. Participants will leave with a clear framework for supporting students through challenges without "rescuing" them, ensuring the cognitive work remains in the hands of the learner.
