From Mistake to Marvel: The Dictado Transformation
Reading Language Arts (K-5)
Share
Turn everyday errors into extraordinary opportunities! In this upbeat, hands-on bilingual session, we’ll reimagine El Dictado as a powerful cross-linguistic routine that strengthens biliteracy, boosts confidence, and builds student ownership. Participants will explore how this routine can be adapted for ESL settings, leveraging language patterns, vocabulary development, and metalinguistic awareness en inglés y en español.
Walk away with ready-to-use strategies, multilingual scaffolds, and creative twists that make Dictado not just a routine—but a marvel your students look forward to. Perfect for educators wanting to elevate language transfer, deepen vocabulary connections, and turn “Oops!” moments into “¡Aha!” breakthroughs!
Important Session Information:
What if student mistakes became your strongest teaching tool? This session reimagines El Dictado as a research-based routine that strengthens writing, builds metalinguistic awareness, and supports Spanish–English transfer for emergent bilingual students. Los errores no se corrigen, se exploran. Cada Dictado es una oportunidad para aprender en dos idiomas. The participants will design curriculum-aligned Dictados, use AI as a planning tool, and leave with TEKS- and ELPS-aligned strategies and a clear next step for immediate classroom implementation, grounded in Literacy Squared research.
