Transition in Practice: Writing Measurable Post-Secondary Goals




This session provides a deep dive into the formula for writing post-secondary goals that are compliant, defensible, and—most importantly—measurable. Differentiate annual IEP goals in the area of transition from post-secondary goals and learn how to align annual goals to facilitate movement toward meeting those post-secondary goals in the future. We will analyze real-world examples and practice turning assessment data into clear targets for education, employment, and independent living. Master the technical art of writing post-secondary goals that pass audit and support student growth.

Important Session Information:


  • Virtual Format: This is a 100% online session. A stable internet connection and a device with a camera/microphone are required for full participation. 
  • Meeting Access: The Zoom link will be sent to the primary email address listed in your ESCWorks profile the day before the session and again the morning of the meeting. 
  • Action Required: Please log in to ESCWorks before the session to verify that your primary email address is current. 
  • Materials: Digital handouts will be provided via email before the meeting and during the meeting via the meeting chat. 
  • Coaching: Attendees are eligible for a follow-up, one-on-one virtual coaching session to apply these strategies to their specific caseloads.
