Teaching with DBQs 101: An Introduction to Engaging Students with Primary Sources

If you're looking for ways to teach history through inquiry or searching for strategies to engage students in historical thinking, this session is for you! Document-based questions (DBQs) are often used as a way to assess a student's historical and analytical thinking skills and argumentative writing abilities. DBQs can also be used to teach historical content, literacy, and thinking skills in a student-centered approach. This FREE session will take teachers through all the steps of the DBQ process in an engaging, interactive way and provide strategies and approaches for teaching with DBQs to all learners.
