Meaningful Discipline: Alternatives to Disciplinary Removals
Online Session

When challenging behavior occurs, removal shouldn't be our default. This session features guest experts and first-hand perspectives on navigating intense moments without compromising safety. We will cover:

  • Pivoting from "What did you do?" to "What do you need?" during crises
  • Mastering the de-escalation cycle to keep students in the learning environment
  • Implementing a restorative mindset and alternative choices rather than punishment
  • A variety of alternative strategies to address unwanted behavior

Meaningful Discipline is a specialized training series for educators focused on replacing punitive-only disciplinary models with evidence-based alternatives. This series will help administrators, special education directors, and other stakeholders navigate the challenges associated with discipline, compliance, and special education.

Participants will have access to a folder with all resources from each session, including slide decks, notes, and other reference materials.
