Meaningful Discipline: Mastering PEIMS and Compliance in Special Education Discipline
Online Session

Data accuracy in special education is much more than checking codes and marking boxes--it's a matter of legal protection and equity. This session provides a deep dive into the technical side of disciplinary reporting to ensure your campus or district remains compliant. We will cover:

  • Navigating PEIMS: Identifying correct discipline codes and action codes
  • Special Education Compliance: Managing the legal requirements for Manifestation Determination Reviews (MDRs) and various discipline-related thresholds
  • Data-Driven Advocacy: Using your campus data trends to identify and address needs, secure student-support resources, and understand factors that can drive improvement

Meaningful Discipline is a specialized training series for educators focused on replacing punitive-only disciplinary models with evidence-based alternatives. This series will help administrators, special education directors, and other stakeholders navigate the challenges associated with discipline, compliance, and special education.

Participants will have access to a folder with all resources from each session, including slide decks, notes, and other reference materials.
