School Improvement Orientation
SY 2026-2027

The School Improvement Orientation for SY 26–27 is a strategic planning session designed to equip district and campus leadership teams—including Superintendents, District Coordinators of School Improvement (DCSIs), principal managers, and principals—with the tools necessary to build systems that sustainably improve student outcomes. This session is designed for leaders of state-identified campuses (overall F rating, UA 1+), federally-identified campuses (Comprehensive Support and Improvement), and select grant-engaged cohorts. Participants will conduct a deep-dive analysis of state and federal accountability data, examine the four highest-leverage turnaround priorities anchored in the Effective Schools Framework (ESF), and unpack required intervention frameworks and regional timelines. Ultimately, leadership teams will leverage the School Improvement Playbook to establish baseline student outcome goals and outline immediate next steps for assembling Campus Intervention Teams and launching localized improvement plans, such as Targeted Improvement Plans (TIP) and Turnaround Plans (TAP).
