Orientation to the Texas Education Code (online course)
2026 - 2027




The Orientation to the Texas Education Code is designed to provide training for all new school board members within their first 120 days of service on the board. It provides a basic introduction to school board service and builds knowledge on roles and responsibilities, rules, laws and general information surrounding board member expectations. The only authorized provider of this training is Education Service Centers.

Important Session Information:


In order to receive the link to the CANVAS course please email skucera@esc12.net.  Participants will have 15 days to complete the course. Participants will be asked to engage in the course by providing feedback/new learnings on each of the course modules. When participants complete the course they will need to email skucera@esc12.net so they can receive a certificate of completion. In addition, there are numerous application of skills tasks where participants will apply the content learned during the course.
