Sectionalism, Civil War, and Reconstruction




The 2016-2017 Grade 8 Social Studies STAAR Institute includes four independent sessions focusing on the best ways to present the content of US History to boost student learning and improve performance on the STAAR. Each day will focus on a specific set of standards and resources to teach those standards. Day 4:  Sectionalism, Civil War, and Reconstruction, will explore the TEKS and resources available for the fourth quarter of the Grade 8 social studies class.  Aside from studying the content, new strategies will be introduced each day using the content and resources of the standards. Processes, strategies, and possible accommodations will be presented for providing instruction to your struggling learners.
